Assessment and Treatment Planning Tools and Customizable Progress Notes for an array of mental health/behavioral health services, including:
Administrative simplification: a single progress note, completed by practitioners during a treatment session, creates:
Compliance tools: automated business rules help assure compliance with state and federal requirements for admission and ongoing eligibility, including:
Before we developed this system, we explored and demo’d dozens of EHR systems. While some may have been close to meeting needs and requirements, none did it all.
Those that came closest were complex, difficult to navigate, and not user-friendly. None offered the kind of customizable business rules and tools that allowed for rapid response to changing rules in the current behavioral healthcare environment.
And none offered the kind of efficiencies we sought that reduced and simplified the documentation burden for busy mental health practitioners.
Tabs reduces documentation requirements to two simple steps:
1. Write progress notes
2. Submit them at intervals defined by the organization.
Customizable business rules in Tabs allow a provider agency to define when progress notes require authorization, alert provider staff to potential client eligibility problems before they provide services, and provide each user with to-do lists, due items reports, system messages, and other tools to promote compliance with agency, payer and governmental rules and requirements. While other systems we’ve seen take stabs at this, they usually require a certain user-savviness that most behavioral health care practitioners lack. Tabs makes it easy for practitioners, throughout the course of their busy workday, to know and comply with these requirements with minimal effort.
The collaborative development model for Tabs allows all users from any screen to ask a question, make a suggestion, or report a bug. With our bugs and suggestions tools, every user is a software developer!
Not at all. An agency can be set up and using Tabs in one day. Depending on the client agency’s current IT resources, our support staff can customize the system for an agency, or meet with IT and Program leadership to teach them how to do customize the system for their agency.
No additional software is required. There are no downloads for users. Tabs is browser-based and can be accessed by any device with a browser and internet connection. We recommend and support Safari, Chrome and Mozilla browsers.
Downloadable extracts and reports can be read by any office product, including Microsoft Office, Numbers, and open-source software such as OpenOffice NeoOffice, or LibreOffice.
We do not recommend or support local hosting of our product.
Our navigational structure and customizable help menus make navigation simple and intuitive. Most users can be up and running with basic functions with less than an hour of training.
Messaging in Tabs works like email. Send, receive, archive and reply are all there just like in your email. The difference is that all these messages stay in the system and behind the security firewalls. Users can send private, protected information in messages to other users without the hassle and risk of additional email encryption software and services.
Yes. Tabs is HIPAA compliant and meets the definition of a Qualified EHR for behavioral healthcare services in Minnesota. We are currently making preparations for federal certification.
Version 1.0 of Tabs is currently in use by Accend Services, Inc., our development partner. It will be ready for customer implementation by January, 2017.
